Can You Guess the Original? Frowin Ickler Reimagines James Browns’ “It’s Too Funky in Here” with 7 Bass Lines
Frowin Ickler got a new L.E.H. Offset 5 SUPERFRO Custom bass and decided to put it to work. He took James Brown’s “It’s Too Funky in Here” live performance at North Sea Jazz ’81 and did his thing.
“I had so much fun doing this! First, I jammed to the song and learned the original bass line,” he shared with us. “Then I removed the original bass with Izotope RX9 and came up with some bass lines that serve the song. Eventually, I came up with 7 different new bass lines. What’s your favorite bassline, and can you guess the original one?”
