A Rocker’s Dream? Meet the Baum Guitars Nidhogg – Our Bass of the Week

This has to be one of the coolest basses we’ve seen in a while. The Baum Guitars Nidhogg is a bass that was “designed to emphasize the rebellious spirit of rock ‘n roll,” and it seems that goal was achieved.
It’s crafted with a mahogany body, a roasted maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The neck has a modern “C” shape for comfort and Ivory White binding for looks. Baum fits the Nidhogg with a pair of Goldsound Powerjab single coil pickups specially made for the bass.
“The J-styled pickups have an Alnico V magnet at the core, wound with a solid output to confidently bring out every note you play, and the wider spacing between the pickups gives you a warmer and more versatile tone,” they write.

The control configuration includes a master volume, a bridge/neck blend knob, and independent tone knobs for each pickup. Hardware includes Buam Precision Tuners with a 20:1 gear ratio and a top-loaded bridge.
