Black Sabbath’s Final Concert, “Back to the Beginning,” to Stream Live July 5th

Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning

The biggest metal show of the century is less than a month away. Black Sabbath’s epic event called “Back to the Beginning” will see all four original members reuniting for one final show on Saturday, July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK. The day-long event will also feature the world’s biggest metal bands: Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and more.

And it’s sold out.

Luckily, fans around the world will be able to tune in as Sabbath announced they will be livestreaming the event. They’ve launched the Back to the Beginning website, where you can purchase a livestream ticket that will play the entire event on a two-hour delay. A VOD Replay will be available after the event until July 7th.

Each member of Black Sabbath has been posting their feelings about the final show on social media. Drummer Bill Ward, who did not take part in their “The End” tour, marveled at the fact that the concert will take place just 10 minutes from where he was born and raised. Tony Iommi shared, “It’s been an incredible journey, but it’s only fitting that it ends here, where it all began in Aston.”

Bassist Geezer Butler called it a special occasion. He’s also been giving sneak peeks of his formidable Ashdown bass rig for the show, which will include four Head of Doom amps and an array of cabinets built specially for the event.

Butler announced in 2023 that he would be retiring from touring, citing that living out of a bus didn’t suit him. He did add that he may do one-off projects or special gigs, so this concert fits that criteria while making it one of the last chances to see him perform live.

Back to the Beginning will stream live on its website on July 5th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. Visit the website for more details.
