Ozzy Osbourne’s Last Concert with Black Sabbath Became His Final Curtain Call

Ozzy Osbourne took the stage one last time on July 5, 2025, returning to his hometown of Birmingham for a farewell concert at Villa Park. The show, titled Back to the Beginning, featured full sets by both Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Weeks later, Ozzy would pass away at 76.

He opened the night with a solo set, bringing back “Mr. Crowley,” “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” “Suicide Solution,” and “Crazy Train” for the first time since 2018. Backing him were Mike Inez on bass, Tommy Clufetos on drums, Adam Wakeman on keys, and Zakk Wylde on guitar.

Then came Sabbath. Their set began with a tape-backed “Sabbra Cadabra” and continued with “War Pigs,” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man,” and “Paranoid.” Bill Ward returned for the first time since 2005, reuniting with Geezer Butler and the rest of the original lineup for a powerful finale.

The night ended with fireworks. It would be the last time Ozzy performed live.

I think he willed himself to stick around long enough to play with his mates one last time. RIP Ozzie…
