Nikki Sixx Selling Motley Crue Vegas Residency Stage-Played Basses with VIP Experience

Nikki Sixx Basses

Motley Crue is gearing up for a residency at Dolby Live in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they will be playing from September 12th to October 3rd. Bassist Nikki Sixx has announced that he’ll be selling the basses he uses for each concert as part of a VIP experience.

“I had been asked 1000’s of times to sell the basses I play onstage, but it took a long time to do it in such a way that the collector would be getting more than just the instrument,” Sixx writes on his website. “I tried to create the experience I would’ve wanted as a fan with a Keith Richards or a Joe Perry… If I could’ve had them play my guitar onstage and give it to me afterward, I would’ve jumped at the chance. All of my basses include a meet & greet with me, photo op and the basses are personalized however the collector wants making it what I hope is a truly special experience.”

During the Vega residency, Sixx will be using two of his signature Schecter basses: one in a silver paint with a distressed finish and one with an inverted body and a large skull printed across the body. The latter pays homage to Sixx’s axe used on the “Girls, Girls, Girls” tour.

Each bass is sold only to people attending the specific show on which it is used, and several have already been reserved. According to their website, the bass will be used for one song in the city you choose. You’ll then get to meet Sixx after the show for photos, where the bassist will also sign the instrument.

The basses are available to purchase now with prices of $5,499 for the Silver Relic bass and $5,999 for the Inverted Skull bass. Visit the Nikki Sixx Official Bass website for more info.

But the question is: Will the bass you purchase be the same bass you hear at the show? ROTFLMAO!

  4. RCar

He doesn’t actually play the bass in concert, so the bass guitars will be in great shape!
