Ernie Ball Music Man Updates Tim Commerford StingRay for 2025 with New Finishes, Full-Scale Design

Ernie Ball Music Man Tim Commerford 2025 StingRay Series

Ernie Ball Music Man has revamped the Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay for 2025 with three new finishes: Fight Night White, Caliper Red, and Natural. The white finish is limited to the passive version of the bass, while the red is for the active model. EBMM is offering the natural finish in both active and passive versions exclusively through the Music Man Vault.

“Built with an ash body, ebony fretboard, [maple neck], classic string-through bridge with vintage-plated saddles, adjustable red mute pads—and Tim’s custom height-adjustable finger ramp for comfortable fingerstyle playing,” the company states.

The Commerford StingRay was first introduced in 2021 and has been released in limited batches each year with various colorways. While the original model had a 30-inch scale, the 2025 edition features a full 34-inch scale. However, you can hear more about the finer points of the adjustable mute pads and finger ramp from Commferford himself in the original release video:

The 2025 Ernie Ball Music Man Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay is available now with a price of $3,299 for the red and white basses and $3,399 for the natural finish.

Again, regarding new bass posts, please add just a few words for the ~7% of us who play left-handed to clearly state whether or not a left-handed version is available. All that needs to be stated is “Left-handed model available.” or “Left-handed model not available”. If you are watching character counts, you can shorten “Left-handed” to “Lefty”.
