Metallica’s Robert Trujillo Unveils Limited Edition Godin Yellow Flame Acoustic-Electric Bass

Rob Trujillo with Godin A4

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo appeared at Guitar Center’s Hollywood Flagship Store on September 25th to unveil a new limited edition signature bass. The Godin A4 (four-string) and A5 (five-string) Robert Trujillo Yellow Flame Acoustic-Electric Bass is limited to just four units in the United States.

“Each instrument is finished in a striking Yellow Flame design inspired by Metallica’s 72 Seasons album, and each is hand-signed by Trujillo, making it an extraordinary find for fans and gear collectors alike. Each bass also comes with a one-of-a-kind embroidered strap designed by Trujillo’s wife, artist Chloe Trujillo, paying homage to the Jaco Pastorius film Robert released. Both Robert and Chloe signed the straps, adding another layer of rarity and artistry to the release.”

Built in Canada, the bass features a dual-chambered Canadian Laurentian basswood body with a cedar top capped by a figured maple veneer. Its hard rock maple neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard and 22 frets. Electronics include a Lace Sensor low-profile pickup and a custom-voiced LR Baggs piezo with adjustable tape saturation simulation. The on-board preamp has a blend control as well as dual outputs for the magnetic and piezo mix.

Other features include an ebony bridge, an extended thumb rest, and a Graphtech nut.

The Godin A4 and A5 Robert Trujillo Yellow Flame basses are exclusive to Guitar Center. They have prices of $5,299 and $5,499, respectively.
