Rush Expands 2026 “50 Something” Tour After Incredible Demand
For many music fans, the Rush reunion has easily become the biggest news of the year. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are teaming up with drummer Anika Nilles for a set of 2026 tour dates, and now the trio has expanded on the run.
They’ve nearly doubled the tour by adding extra dates to each city and venue due to “incredible demand.” That includes two more dates in Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, and Toronto. Their final stop in Cleveland, Ohio, has also added a new date for September 19th. Mexico City remains a single night.
The run will mark Lee and Lifeson’s first outing since 2015, when the R40 Tour marked Rush’s final dates. Drum legend Neil Peart passed away in 2020, seeming to end the prog rock trio’s run. The bassist and guitarist eventually jammed together again in casual sessions that led to Lifeson “falling in love with playing again.”
They announced the news in a session at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 5th. Watch the whole session here:
Legendary DJ and Rush proponent Donna Halper revealed that the band has planned for a shorter tour for now.
“After the event, Geddy and Alex and I chatted backstage,” she explained. “Geddy said he hadn’t even told all of his family members yet– the decision was that recent. And they both agreed a limited tour was sensible for now: while they’ve taken care of themselves, they are in their early 70s, and as Geddy acknowledged, he needed to know how touring would affect their bodies and their health.”
