Victor Wooten’s Tone in a Box? Rodenberg Launches Signature LDP Deluxe Pedal

Victor Wooten and Rodenberg with LDP

Bass virtuoso Victor Wooten has teamed up with Rodenberg Amplification to create the LDP Deluxe Victor Wooten Signature pedal. Handcrafted in Germany, the stompbox is designed to bring Wooten’s sound directly to your pedalboard.

“Developed together with Victor Wooten, this pedal captures his unmistakable tone — dynamic, warm and powerful,” the company’s website says. “Based on the classic Rodenberg LDP circuit, fine-tuned to Victor’s exact specifications.”

Wooten shared the pedal on his Facebook page, simply stating, “It’s about to get loud.”

The unit features three separate custom pedals in one box – Low Gain overdrive, High Gain overdrive, and Clean Boost – each with its own controls. Both the Low Gain and High Gain overdrives have Level, Tone, and Drive knobs as well as a toggle switch for Deep Boost. The Clean Boost section has Level and Tone knobs with two toggle switches for Deep Boost and a +20dB Level Boost.

Rodenberg gave the circuit extra flexibility with a Pre/Post toggle switch that changes the signal path from having the boost before the distortion to having it last in the signal. It also features a Locked Toggle switch that locks both overdrives and a Push Toggle switch that converts the High Gain Overdrive to momentary operation. This allows the user to engage the High Gain overdrive only as long as the footswitch is pressed. Rodenberg explains this also works in conjunction with the Locked mode.

Other features include mechanical True Bypass switching, a jewel LED for each effect, and a black powder-coated aluminum enclosure. It runs on a 9-18V power supply, which is not included.

The Rodenberg Custom Amplification LDP Deluxe Victor Wooten Signature pedal is built in limited batches. It’s available now for $234.98.

If it’s victor Wooten, I trust it. I was working a show years ago when I saw him control the weather with his bass. I had already confessed that I was a fan during soundcheck. He looked me straight in the eye , downtuned his E and proceeded to release 2 minutes of rain and bass solo virtuosity
