Vulfpeck’s “MSG II” Hits YouTube as the Vinyl Release Highlights Joe Dart’s Live Mastery
Vulfpeck has released their MSG II concert in full on YouTube, giving fans another look at the band’s return to Madison Square Garden. The show runs over an hour and 45 minutes and captures the group in peak form with Joe Dart holding down the night on his signature Ernie Ball Music Man bass through his Markbass rig.
Joe works several bass solo highlights into the set, you can check out New Beastly HERE or Dean Town HERE. His tone is classic Dart, very punchy, percussive, and glued to the pocket.
The visual aesthetic of the show is pure Vulfpeck. The entire stage is lined with a collection of Persian rugs, creating a warm, living-room-style backdrop. In true Vulf fashion, the band later sold the rugs on their website after the show.
Alongside the video release, the performance is also available on vinyl, which you can PreOrder HERE.
It’s well worth the full watch or listen, especially if you’re here for Joe’s bass work.
No Treble CEO Jody Miller is a Chicago-based bassist, guitarist, engineer, and producer best known for his bass gear demo videos and as the co-host of The Bass Nerds podcast.
Joe Dart is playing the cheaper Sterling version of his signature bass – not the full EBMM one! He seems to prefer it. Sounds amazing. I hope they do another production run.
