DOD’s Badder Monkey Packs Three Overdrives and Blend Control Into One Pedal

DOD Badder Monkey

DOD has unleashed the Badder Monkey, an overdrive pedal that they call an evolution of the Bad Monkey. It features a faithful reproduction of the original circuit along with two additional circuits, for a total of three overdrives in one unit.

The “Badder” circuit is a higher-gain overdrive, while “Behaved” is a lower-gain circuit. Aside from having three options, what makes the Badder Monkey unique is the Barrel Control, a 360-degree knob that lets you select which circuit or blend two of the three for hundreds of mixture combinations. A switch for Troop mode engages all three overdrives at once.

Other controls include Bananas (Gain), Curiosity (Level), and Mood (EQ). DOD also fits the pedal with their new StagePlate, a reversible back plate that has a rubber skid pad side and a “hook and loop” side for easily mounting on a pedalboard.

You can hear the Badder Monkey on bass in this video by Tommy Lee Depp at the 21:46 mark.

The DOD Badder Monkey is shipping soon for $149.
