Mammoth WVH stopped by Zane Lowe for an acoustic session on Apple Music, performing “The Spell” in a stripped down setting that reminds me of the “Unplugged” days. Everyone is on acoustics except bassist Ronnie Ficarro, who holds it down on a Music Man. That contrast works. The guitars are light and open and the bass fills the space with depth and warmth.
Wolfgang Van Halen leads the band on acoustic guitar and vocals, and the whole thing feels relaxed but tight.
