Mick Jagger Goes Solo in Tokyo and Doug Wimbish Holds It Down All Night

This is Mick Jagger in full solo mode, and the band he brought to Tokyo in 1988 is no joke. Absolute killers across the board, with Joe Satriani on guitar, Simon Phillips on drums,  and a young Doug Wimbish holding it down on bass.

The set is full of Rolling Stones material, so you get that familiar swagger, just with a different kind of fire behind it. Then it gets even better with guest spots, including Tina Turner stepping in and taking things to another level.

Bass-wise, this is early Wimbish. I didnt recognize him at first but the playing is unmistakable. Punchy, aggressive, and totally committed.  Big stage, big songs, stacked lineup, and a bassist already showing signs of what he would become.

This is a full set, over an hour long.  If you dont have time to watch the whole thing, start HERE.
