Primus Drops New EP Featuring a Slap-Heavy New Track, “The Ol’ Grizz”

Primus Band Photo with Nuggs EPPrimus is about to kick off the Claypool Gold Tour, and they’re getting fans primed by releasing a new EP called A Handful of Nuggs. The four-song EP includes a brand new song called “The Ol’ Grizz,” marking one of the first tracks to feature drummer John Hoffer.

Les Claypool drops a furious slap line in the higher register before dropping bass into a style reminiscent of his classics from albums like Pork Soda. Halfway through the track, they find a pyschedelic groove punctuated with prog licks.
