Toy Factory Project’s All-Star Lineup Features Oteil Burbridge on “A New Life”

Toy Factory Project has assembled one of the strongest all star lineups in Southern rock, and this live performance of “A New Life” shows exactly why.

The 10 minute performance features bassist Oteil Burbridge locking in on his beautiful Dire Wolf bass while stretching the Marshall Tucker Band classic into an expansive jam.   The band was put together by original Marshall Tucker Band drummer Paul T. Riddle to celebrate the music of the late Toy Caldwell. Joining Burbridge are Marcus King on guitar and vocals, Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke on guitar and vocals, and Josh Shilling whose work spans Mountain Heart and Wynonna Judd’s band on keyboards and vocals. Together they honor the original songs while bringing their own personalities to every performance. The project debuted in 2025 and has quickly become one of the most talked about collaborations in Southern rock.

If you love great bass playing, stellar musicianship, and southern rock charm, this one is well worth the full 10 minutes.
