Tim Lefebvre, Michael Landau, and Keith Carlock Go Off on “Rascal Balls”
Michael Landau has shared a live clip of “Rascal Balls” from The Baked Potato, and this trio gets into some serious territory. The guitarist is joined by Tim Lefebvre on bass and Keith Carlock on drums for a performance that is tight, experimental, and beautifully unpredictable.
Lefebvre is playing his signature LEH bass, locking in with Carlock while navigating into more progressive spaces. Around the 8:30 mark, he kicks on his sub octave effects pedal adding a massive low end that shifts the energy of the tune. Clocking in at over ten minutes, Landau leads with the kind of expressive vocal guitar approach that brings Jeff Beck to mind, while Lefebvre and Carlock stay locked in.
This is a great one for fans of adventurous trio playing.
