Three Monsters, One Stage: MonoNeon, Marcus King & Chris Dave Tear Into “Save Me”

There are supergroups, and then there is Atomic Habitz.

The trio brings together Marcus King, Chris Dave, and the one and only MonoNeon on bass. The group has already played a sold out run at the Blue Note in New York, with their shows built around deep grooves and plenty of improvisation.

Atomic Habitz hit the Newport Jazz Festival on August 1st, and MonoNeon has been sharing several videos from the set on his YouTube channel, including “Hot Cheetos,” “Guess Who,” and this performance of Marcus King’s “Save Me.”  They are all killer, but this one may be my favorite so far. The chemistry between these three is ridiculous and MonoNeon is laying down a massive foundation in a style that is all his own with his signature Fender 5 string.

Crank this one up.
