Sadowsky Introduces the MetroExpress Modern Fretless Bass Series
Sadowsky has announced the MetroExpress Modern Fretless, which features a roasted flame maple fingerboard with a hard poly coating. The combination delivers “clarity, sustain, and beautifully pronounced overtones,” the company states.
The bass features an okoume body in Tobacco Sunburst Transparent and Solid Black High Polish finishes. It will be available in four-, five-, and six-string versions, all with roasted maple necks. Sadowsky keeps the fingerboard free of fretlines or markers, but side dots on the neck help you navigate the board.
For electronics, the MetroExpress Modern Fretless is fitted with a pair of Sadowsky Soapbar pickups and active Sadowsky 2-way electronics. Controls include Volume, Balance, Treble, and Bass, with the Bass knob having a push/pull function for active/passive operation.
Other features include the company’s Quick String Release bridge, the height-adjustable Just-A-Nut III, lightweight open-gear tuners, and a quick-access electronics compartment.

The Sadowsky MetroExpress Modern Fretless will begin shipping soon, with prices starting at approximately $1,476 for the four-string model.
