Bass of the Week: Conway’s MPS Gets the Ghost Burst Treatment

This week we’re checking out a new bass from Australia’s Conway Guitars. The MPS is the Mark Peric Signature bass, and this latest build is the model’s next evolution.
It’s built with a semi-hollow black walnut body and a flame maple top with matching pickup covers, all treated with a “Ghost Burst” open-pore pre-catalyzed lacquer finish. Sporting a 32-inch scale, its five-piece Queensland walnut and hard maple neck is complemented by a New Guinea ebony fingerboard with 24 frets marked with sterling silver hollow dot inlays.
Conway fitted the MPS with a pair of Bartolini Candybar pickups separated by a matching ramp and a Mike Pope preamp. Other features include a Hipshot A-style bridge and Schaller M4 locking tuners.
