Blu DeTiger Brings Bass, Disco, and Downtown Energy to “N.Y. Baby”
Blu DeTiger has returned with her second album, N.Y. Baby, which brings her blend of funk, disco, and house into focus with bass-centric grooves. The bassist calls the blend the “most honest version” of herself.
“It’s all the parts of myself I used to think I had to separate – growing up in New York, DJing downtown as a teenager, being a bass player, my love of indie, disco, funk, house all finally existing in the same place,” DeTiger says. “I wanted the record to have the feeling of a New York night out, where you leave the house with so much possibility and no idea where you’re going to end up. There’s freedom, desire, movement, a little mischief, and this sense that something could happen around every corner. The feeling at the core of the record became to stop thinking and start moving! N.Y. Baby, to me, is confident, curious, restless, sexy, spontaneous, and completely open to wherever the night takes you.”
Check out the music video for the title track, which features Holly Walker, Say She She, and Flavor Flav.
N.Y. Baby is available now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other digital platforms.
