Check out this creatively edited video of Markus Strasser playing a short bass solo dedicated to Victor Wooten.

The following video features Edo Castro taking the song “Remembering” by Johnse Holt, and arranging and performing it as a solo bass loop tune.

This guy who goes by the alias of “Golfybass” seems to be only wearing a pair of boxers in the following video of him performing his song Moving Average on a piccolo-strung bass. I apologize for that, but I promise that the video will be worth it!

Jon Reshard, who is the current bassist for Greg Howe, first caught my attention on the Gospelchops Bass DVD, where he did a cool medley of a few songs he had arranged for bass. In the medley was parts of Billy Joel’s “She’s Always A Woman”:

The following video was brought to my attention by a friend of mine, Linda Palmer. The Lars Danielsson Trio features Leszek Mo?d?er on the piano, Xavier Desandre Navarre on drums and Lars Danielsson on the double bass. In this video they’re performing their tune “Pasodoble”.

Here’s Whitesnake/Lyrics Born bassist, Uriah Duffy, working on a bass arrangement of Michael Jackson’s song “Human Nature”. Evidently, this isn’t the finished version, but it sounds great so far!

The Pat Metheny Group did a tune on their first album, (1978), named after Jaco Pastorius. This is an early version of the song from 1977 and features Mark Egan on the fretless bass.

This video features Stanley Clarke playing one of my favorite tunes of his, “Wild Dog”. Armand Sabal-Lecco backs Stanley up in this video, which was filmed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2004.

This Chilean trio features Antonio Restucci on acoustic guitar, Emilio Garcia on mandolin and Marcelo Cordova on electric bass. They’re performing the tune “Evocacion” live in a Chilean jazz club.

This is the Hungarian folk song, “A csitári hegyek alatt”, adapted to bass guitar and performed by L?rincz Viktor, aka Victor L.

There seems to be something in the water in Cameroon that makes the country produce great bass players. This video features a live solo from Cameroonian bass player Guy Nsaunge, who plays with French virtuosic violinist Jean-Luc Ponty.
