We're kicking off 2023 with one of our favorite things: a video by a No Treble reader. Pete O’Neill shared this clip of his arrangement of “Glasgow Love Theme” from “Love Actually,” which he plays on his new Paul Beard Resonator Bass.
The Band Geeks: “Heartbreaker” and “Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman)”
In this new video, The Band Geeks are rocking two tunes from “Led Zeppelin II.” Richie Castellano lays down the bass and adds vocals behind Ann Marie Nacchio’s vocals on “Heartbreaker” and “Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman).”
Vulfpeck: In Heaven
Vulfpeck just dropped the next video from their album, Schvitz, which is available for pre-order through tomorrow. Here’s Joe Dart and the guys performing “In Heaven,” which was written by Joey Dosik.
The Plate Scrapers: Drive My Car
No Treble’s Kevin Johnson recently finished a tour with The Plate Scrapers, and they just shared this video from the road. High up on Signal Mountain, the band performs a bluegrass cover of the Beatles’ “Drive My Car.” Dig Kevin’s solo!
Buddy Guy: “Midnight Train” and “Sweet Home Chicago” (Live)
Zycopolis TV continues to drop some incredible videos. This one, filmed at Jazz à Vienne 1998, features two tunes from Buddy Guy’s performance. Here’s the band, with Greg Rzab on bass, performing “Midnight Train” and “Sweet Home Chicago.”
Lake Street Dive: Nick of Time (Live from The Sultan Room)
Lake Street Dive dropped another video from their “Live from The Sultan Room,” and this one grooves. The band covers Bonnie Raitt’s “Nick of Time,” with Bridget Kearney’s great tone laying down the foundation.

Zycopolis TV dropped another gem of a video a couple of days ago from Jazz à Vienne 1991. Here’s John McLaughin, Dominique Di Piazza, and Trilok Gurtu performing “One Night Stand.”
Zander Zon: Carol of the Bass
Zander Zon took “Carol of the Bells” and arranged it for a stunning bass arrangement for the holidays. Merry Christmas!

Liam Galiano put together six holiday videos, and he named the series “Merry Bass-mas.” Here’s one of our favorites, with Liam performing a solo bass arrangement of “O Tannenbaum.”

Berklee shared their latest “Two Track” video in their series, and this one gets down. The Tower of Power Ensemble (with Anderson Mirafzali on bass) performs the songs “(I Still Be) Diggin’ on James Brown,” “Celebration,” and “Souled Out.”
