The Red Hot Chili Peppers recently announced there’s a new album coming. “Return of the Dream Canteen” is releasing on October 14th, and the band has dropped the first video. “Tippa My Tongue” features some funky goodness by Flea.

Earlier this year, Richard Bona visited Alacran Studios in Miami Beach, FL, to record some tunes. Here’s a clip from the session, with Bona doing a fantastic solo bass and vocals version of Guillermo Rodriguez’s “Bilongo.”

Today we’re excited to feature a monster playthrough by bassist David John Levy of Unprocessed. The German prog band’s new album “Gold” was released today, which features the song “Orange Grove.”

When I watched this video by Tim Starace, I thought to myself that he’s making his music room double as a home gym. Here he is playing bass, keyboards, and pedals on “La Villa Strangiato.”

The amount of talent on a single stage in this video is mind-blowing. This clip comes from the 2014 Global Concert in Osaka, Japan, with Herbie Hancock backed by a supergroup (including Marcus Miller) on a performance of “Hang Up Your Hang Ups.”

Ellen Alaverdyan has a new video out, and this one features an original tune by her dad, Hovak. They’re joined by Murzo on keyboards, 13-year-old Alisaxie Xiaotong on drums, and 17-year-old Noah-Benedikt Hahn on sax to perform “Summer Jam.”

I could watch videos by Paul Thompson (aka pdbass) all day. The way he breaks down music is remarkable. In this clip, Thompson breaks down versions of “Ain't No Mountain High Enough,” and the incredible work of James Jamerson.

Zander Zon has been revisiting his back catalog with new videos, and I’ve been enjoying it. From his second album, “Saturn Return,” here’s the song, “Kinetic.”

On August 10th, Primus performed at Red Rocks as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of South Park. There was a big surprise: Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson took the stage and performed “Closer to the Heart” with Matt Stone and the band.
