Here’s a new video by Scary Pockets, which once again features the groovy bass work of Joe Ayoub. Louis Cato is the guest vocalist on this funky version of Corrine Bailey Rae’s “Put Your Records On” (which also includes Jacob Collier on keys).

I recently discovered the music of Angelique Francis and watched many of her videos. “What’s Your Story” is a powerful tune, from the bassist’s album, “Kissed By The Blues”.

Cory Wong just released a new video for a song from his upcoming album, “Power Station”. “Concrete” features guest Mark Lettieri and is anchored by the always funky Sonny T.

Marcus Miller is back with another video from his residency at the Blue Note in New York. Marcus and the band take on the Aretha Franklin classic ‘Chain Of Fools”. R&B/Soul singer Ledisi is on vocals, and she adds such flavor!

It is always exciting when Brad Russell reaches out to me. Two days ago, he sent me this video of him performing an all live looping bass & vocals version of Elton John’s “Rocket Man”. Brad never lets us down!

The Dead Daisies are celebrating the release of their “Live From Daisyland” EP with a video of Glenn Hughes and the band tearing through Deep Purple’s “Burn”.

Another fantastic collaboration video hit my radar, and this one gets the led out. Here’s Dino Jelusick, Micky Crystal, Colin Parkinson, and Kyle Hughes performing “Immigrant Song,” with guest solos by Ivan Keller and Jordan Ziff.

This is a longer video than normal, but it is worth it. Avishai Cohen performed at the Maillon theatre in Strasbourg with drummer Roni Kaspi and pianist Elchin Shirinov. The trio performed music from their upcoming album, “Shifting Sands”.

Alex Weber is a beast on the bass, and here’s some more proof. Earlier this year he filled in on bass for Obscura’s U.S. tour. Here he shares a video of the song “Septuagint” from their February performance at Baltimore Soundstage.
