Jason Everett plays through his epic solo bass composition “Awakening” in this new video. Utilizing a six-string acoustic bass and his seven-string fretless, the bassist creates a mood drawing from Eastern sounds. We’re big fans of the band known as Harbouring Oceans. Bassist Ken Farrell sent us this video and note: “You featured a video of ours last year called ‘Enso.’ We’re back with a reharmonized 90 second cover of ‘Wonderwall’ and would love for you to feature it…” We dig it! How about you?

It has been a while since we featured a video by Jason Matthews. In this clip, Jason takes on a beast of a tune: Jaco Pastorius’ “Liberty City,” from Invitation. Here they are performing the Stones’ classic “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” with Widespread Panic in Birmingham, Alabama last year. Bassist Dave Schools lays down the perfect groove behind the tune, with some great musicianship all around.
