Today’s video comes from Japanese bassist Ani-Zoo‘s DVD release, “The Recital”. We can’t find much info on the DVD at this point (we’d love to get a copy!), but you can check out more about Ani-Zoo at his web site.

This is just a cool video, featuring bassist Serino Gianni, doing a little sight reading on a funky Latin piece. Thanks to Ingrid Pastorius, who shared this with us on our Facebook page.

Miles Mosley has just launched an all-new version of his web site, complete with a lots of new videos. I’ve been sitting on these videos for about a month, looking forward to sharing them. Here’s one of our favorites, “L.A. Won’t Bring You Down”.

Bassist Jack Bruce and guitarist Robin Trower performed material from their “Seven Moons” album during concert at the Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen, Netherlands. This is the title track from the album, available in both CD and DVD releases.

Here’s Christian McBride performing his version of the Weather Report tune “Boogie Woogie Waltz”. McBride said Weather Report used to close their shows with this tune, before “Birdland”. You can hear this tune and others on McBride’s album.

Heather Bloomgren of Wichita, Kansas got a very special present this year. Holy moly, this is the good stuff… Stanley Clarke and Steve Gadd laying down one mean groove, mostly to the Clarke tune “Silly Putty”, and a few other hits.

Check out bassist Neftali Lopez‘s adaptation of Tony Levin’s stick part from the Liquid Tension Experiment tune “Universal Mind”. Neftali is playing this on his six string bass with a Phaser (BOSS ME-50B multieffects) and the bridge pickup at 75%, to make sound similar to a Stick. Check out more on Neftali on his MySpace page.
