Here’s a performance featuring King Curtis on vocals with Jerry Jemmott laying it down. We think this is from a performance in 1971. Jerry Jemmott is the man. Holy smokes.

Our good friend Will sent this one in (we’re going to have to start a new category called Willie’s Picks). This is Hot Tuna’s Jack Casady on bass and Jorma Kaukonen on guitar, playing “Mann’s Fate” on the PBS show “Folk Guitar” hosted by Laura Weber. Check out around the 3:10 mark when Casady takes the lead. Nice.

We’ve covered Spaceman and his unusual bass creations before. Here’s one from the archives: the Spaceman “Dominator” Aluminum 6-String Fretless Bass The Dominator is a full-length, 6-string aluminum bass guitar with an active EMG pickup, mounted above the strings.
