I ran into Brad Williamson at this year's NAMM Show, and I'm glad I did. Here’s his fantastic all-bass arrangement of Animals as Leaders's "Thoughts and Prayers," which he performs on his FM 12 String Bass.

YYNOT’s annual Bubba Bash took place on January 6th to benefit Cedars-Sinai Hospital in memory of late Rush drummer Neil Peart. The band has started releasing videos from the show, including this performance on “YYZ,” with Mike Portnoy.

The No Treble team was blessed to be able to come together at the NAMM Show. Of course, that meant plenty of conversations about BASS. One of those focused on Tom Barney. Here he is in 1990, at Live Under The Sky with David Sanborn.

I’ve been digging the videos from this year’s NAMM Show, including this incredible jam by Thundercat, Hadrien Feraud, and Michael Pipoquinha at the GR booth.

WDR Rockpalast posted this video from Jethro Tull’s “Swing In” documentary the other day. The film captures footage of the band in 1969. This lineup, of course, included bassist Glenn Cornick.

Henrik Linder and Rubem Farías put on quite the performance at the EBS booth during the 2024 Winter NAMM show. Here’s a great shot of their jam session.

MonoNeon released a new track he wrote and produced with Davy Nathan. The song (and video) for “Church Of Your Heart” is powerful.

Adam Ben Ezra has teamed up with drummer Michael Olivera for a new project. This video of “Cosmic Nomad” is an exciting preview of what’s to come. The duo is working on a new album, which is planned for a release this year.

The G3 tour has officially kicked off, and we’re already starting to see footage. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson are joined by Bryan Beller on the tour. Here they are performing “Crossroads” at the Rialto Theater in Tucson, AZ.

Andy Summers shared a video yesterday titled “Jamming with Tal…” In this clip, they perform The Police’s “Walking On The Moon,” with Tal Wilkenfeld handling the vocals.

Drummer Jojo Mayer continues to release videos from his archives, and this one is excellent. Mayer teamed up with John Davis for this incredible duo improv, complete with some incredible sounds from the bassist.

The folks at Music Universe shared this video featuring Jaco Pastorius. This clip was recorded during a 1986 performance in Salzburg, Austria. Jaco solos over the classic Miles Davis tune, “So What,” backed by drummer Michael Kersting.
