I stumbled upon this video by Feng Suave and was an instant fan. Here’s the band performing five of their tracks live at Studio Helmbreker, Haarlem.

Scary Pockets just dropped another smooth funk cover, and this is one of my favorites by the band. Joined by guest vocalist Moira Mack and bassist Travis Carlton, here’s their take on the Etta James hit, “At Last.”

Crank Caviar has been dropping some fire content lately, including this new twist on a Phil Collins classic, “In the Air Tonight.” This cover features Antone “Chooky” Caldwell on 6-string bass bringing the heat! It’s locked in the pocket, for sure.

Most (if not all) of us have watched Jaco Pastorius’s “Modern Electric Bass” video with Jerry Jemmott. The riff Jaco plays in the opening credits is incredible. Scott Devine breaks it down in this video.

Scary Goldings dropped a new live video of them a couple of days ago, and that’s always an exciting thing for us. Check out John Scofield, MonoNeon, Lemar Carter, Larry Goldings, Jack Conte, and Ryan Lerman performing “Disco Pills.”

While I love spinning Snarky Puppy’s “Empire Central” on vinyl, I also love watching their videos of the live recording session. The band just dropped a new video for “Portal.”

Musician/producer Filippo Bubbico enlisted bassist Federico Malaman for this collaboration. “Weird Funk Crazy Song” has Federico playing two bass tracks – traditional and lead.

Evan Marien shared a video focusing on the excellent work of Jimmy Johnson, and in particular, a great fill he played during a live performance of “You’ve Got A Friend” with James Taylor.

Martin Miller and his studio band put together an epic medley of music from the 70s, covering KISS, The Bee Gees, Toto, Pink Floyd, Earth Wind & Fire, and more.

No Treble reader Lukas Pamminger sent us this video, and we’re digging his trio, T.O.L. Check out their funky tune, “Mupasario,” which he says honors the hours they spent playing ‘Super Mario’ on the Nintendo 64.

Charles Berthoud once again broke out the fretless, and then he played Polyphia’s “Playing God” on it.

Zander Zon switches things up with a new how-to video. This demonstrates how bassists looking to work with a loop pedal can create a multi-layered, solo bass song.
