Höfner Introduces the Club Bass 500/2 Double Cut
Höfner has introduced the Club Bass 500/2 Double Cut, a model inspired by the original 1965 model. The short-scale, hollow body bass dishes out old school tone with a double cutaway design for easy access to the upper register.
It’s built with a select spruce top and flame maple for its back and sides, which are bound in black and white. The body is finished in in an antique brown sunburst that the company says compliments its nickel hardware.
Its three-piece flamed maple and beech neck is topped by a rosewood fingerboard. A pair of Höfner’s staple pickups are positioned closely to the neck and the bridge while the controls are the company’s classic white pearl panel. Other features include an ebony bridge, a trapeze nickel tailpiece, and Höfner flat wound strings.
The Höfner Club Bass 500/2 Double Cut is made in Germany and will carry a street price around $3,079.
