Gene Simmons sued for assault

gene-simmonsGene Simmons of KISS is being sued for allegedly attacking a couple in a shopping mall in Los Angeles. The couple, Nathan Marlowe and Cynthia Manzo, allege that Simmons “responded negatively” after Marlowe began video taping him and asking him about monogamy. Marlowe claims that Gene Simmons took their camera, then choked and head butted him as well as shouted “I will kill you,” when they tried to retrieve it.

The couple are seeking over $25,000 in damages, and made civil claims of assault, battery, and infliction of emotional distress against Simmons. He was not arrested or charged in the alleged incident.

It kind of seems like a normal response to having some stranger pointing a camera in your face and asking you really personal questions. Did anyone think about Gene's privacy. I don't think so. I hope Gene counter sues for harassment, stalking, invasion of privacy. He had a right to protect himself from these people.

thenewlt you're a jackass. he's a celebrity and that's the price for being a rich blowhard, you get paparazzi and fans taking your pictures, asking you stupid shit and following you around like a lap dog… part of fame. simmons is a well known pussy… he usually sicks his security buffoons on you but he must have got a moment of clarity and decided to strangle a fan himself instead of watching his bouncer buddies do it for him as he's known for. i've watched many irate fans and associates removed from venues and meetings by this a$$hole$ security thugs…

Ed,
Just the fact they are a celebrity, famous, a well known 'p' ,etc etc, does not warrant this type of lack of common sense response and does not allow someone else to think it is their God given right to overstep certain boundaries regarding privacy and certain personal matters. I am sure there are things you just would not want the world to know, and that you would fight to keep them private.Would you want certain cronies coming over to remove your personal camera equipment without due process just because you don't like what they represent.
Having dealt with many a celebrity over time in public and at a professional level, I don't think that it's surprising that most of them just want to have a normal life and have just a little breathing space when they are out in public, and to be treated in a professional manner when being dealt with at a professional level, even if they are being a royal P.I.T.B.
Not throwing this at you personally, respecting these fine boundaries in your industry of photography makes the difference between a 'professional' photographer that garnishes respect from all, and a 'criminal' stalker, who should be locked up with the keys thrown away.

Ed,
Looking at your own website , it shows that your own business card that you placed an image copyrighted by you that contains a KISS trademark, which holds out greater legal ramifications than those regarding your photography. Sorry bud, I know where you are coming from- but would like to see many move beyond the hypocrisy they so create for themselves.

you keep your hands to yourself. touch me that way and you'll end up with a broken area of your face… fact. simmons thinks he can do anything he likes because of his celebrity status and he's used it with law enforcement to abuse his victims… fact. he and paul went to kiss coventions to steal stuff from fans that was legally obtatined. you don't know anything about the law? i don't care who he is he touches me and he'll end up with a problem, even if he had his handlers deal with it he still has to follow the rules and that is assault, jackass. and i am in current litigation with his fucking stupid ass… he's a rip off. thinks he can steal abuse and use images that he has no right or permission to use. you are running your dicksucker like most of you blind sheep do. stfu.

Funny thing is that I am learning to be a design specialist and understand quite well trademark and copyright law and hopefully will be getting a business law degree in the near future.
Good thing for you to know is that Kiss had their trademark rejected in 2009. And for the record,, Trademarks do apply legally above that of copyright. I do side with you though regarding the use of your photos and would see wisdom in copyrighting and trademarking anything you do. You maybe able to throw any insult at me Ed, but I'm not here other than to be constructive, which maybe a help with your attitude.
Hope all the best with your lawsuit, if what you say is true, then they deserve it. Might be a good idea not to post in the way you do,as it may hinder your case- the courts do look at what you are saying online and don't take being disrespectful to anyone too lightly.
A good thing to remember is the what I said about being professional , for that way you garnish respect. Peace..
