Johnny Grubb plays final show with Railroad Earth

Johnny GrubbJohnny Grubb, of the jam band RailRoad Earth, played his final concert with them on New Year’s Eve ’09 in Portland, Oregon. The bassist said in his blog that “the flame of my creativity began lighting a different path than the one that I was on with RRE,” citing that his love of computer programming had made him decide to leave the band.

“I never intended to be a touring musician for the rest of my life, and have proceeded to plan my life with my wife and our son and our dogs accordingly,” he says.

Keith Moseley of String Cheese Incident will take Grubb’s place in the group on the upcoming Jam Cruise.
