Markbass Unveils New Bass Amps at NAMM

Markbass rolled out four new amps at the NAMM Show this year: the Big Bang, the TTE 800, and the MoMark Black 500 and 800.

Markbass The Big Bang Bass AmpThe Big Bang is the newest model in Markbass’s Little Mark series. The compact head features a solid state preamp and digital power amp that pumps out 500 watts at 4 ohms while weighing in at a mere 4.74 pounds. It’s got all the functions employed by the rest of the line, including a 4-band EQ, effects loop, and an XLR DI output with level and pre/post EQ controls. The Big Bang takes it further by adding an auxiliary in, headphone output, mute, and Markbass’s VPE and VLF filters. A footswitch jack also allows for controlling the mute and filters.

Randy Jackson Signature TTE 800

Markbass Randy Jackson Signature TTE 800 Bass AmpMarkbass pumped up Randy Jackson’s signature TTE 500 with the new TTE 800, which delivers 800 watts at 4 ohms.

Described as having a “vintage vibe,” the TTE 800 features a tube preamp, tube compressor, a 3-band passive EQ section, and a “Colour” filter, which is a tube adaptation of their VLE control. The digital power supply helps keep the weight down, and the TTE 800 comes in at just 13.23 pounds.

MoMark Black 500 and 800

MoMark Black 500 Bass AmpFinally, Markbass introduced the MoMark Black 500 and 800 models. The ready-to-play heads are created from the company’s MoMark module system, and include the T1M tube preamp, the EQ 42S 4-band EQ with parametric mids, and the MVVL master module with their VLE and VPF filters. The 500 pumps out 500 watts of analog power, while the 800 has a digital power amp rated at 800 watts at 4 ohms. The modules are interchangeable with other MoMark modules, making the new amps customizable to suit.
