The Crimson Projekct Releases “Live in Tokyo”

The Crimson Projekct: Live in TokyoSo, anything associated with King Crimson isn’t going to be simple — that’s just a given. So, it should follow that the Crimson offshoot band, Crimson ProjeKCt isn’t one band, it’s two.

One is Stick Men, featuring Crimson bassist/Chapman Stick player Tony Levin and drummer Pat Mastelotto (another Crimson alum) with multi-instrumentalist/Chapman Stick player Markus Reuter. The other is the Adrian Belew Power Trio of guitarist/vocalist Adrian Belew (also a Crimson alumnus), bassist Julie Slick and drummer Tobias Ralph. A typical show features a set from Stick Men, another from the power trio and then a culminating performance from the six-member group.

This team of six released its first live album, Live in Tokyo, to coincide with the group’s first European tour. Recorded in March 2013 at Club Citta’, the music focuses on 1980s-mid-1990s Crimson work.

The album is available on CD and digital formats (iTunes and Amazon MP3.)
