Groove – Episode #21: Tim Lefebvre

Tim Lefebvre

There are bass players who are able to cross musical genres, but few do it as well as Tim Lefebvre. His playing consistently demonstrates an uncanny ability to adapt to a wide range of different styles.

It may well be the exact reason why David Bowie chose Tim to play on his final studio album, Blackstar, which was released two days before the legendary singer passed away earlier this year.

Tim is no stranger to playing with legends. Over the years he has also played with Elvis Costello, Sting, John Mayer and many more.

His main gig these days is as a member of Tedeschi Trucks Band. With that, he is a player comfortable in many genres (rock, jazz, fusion, electronic and beyond). This has led him to work on soundtracks like Ocean’s Twelve, The Sopranos, The Departed and many more.
