Josquin Des Pres Launches Bass Fitness Mobile App

The Bass Fitness App ScreenshotWant to get in shape? Bassist Josquin Des Pres has released a new app called Bass Fitness. Dubbed “The Ultimate Woodshedding App,” the new release is based on his best-selling book published by Hal Leonard in 1991.

“The exercises in Bass Fitness are designed to help increase your speed, improve your dexterity, develop accuracy and promote finger independence for the 4, 5 and 6 string bass player,” a press release states. “Even though all the tablature and finger combinations apply to the left hand, they will also work your right hand as some of them require swift and precise right-hand moves.”

Each exercise can be displayed in tablature or standard music notation. A transport panel allows for playback of each example as well as recording yourself playing along. It has an indicator for when a recording has been completed as well as loop and metronome buttons.

The Bass Fitness App is available for download now for $9.99 through iTunes.
