Jens Ritter Introduces Two New Bass Models

German bass building artist Jens Ritter has revealed two new bass models for 2017, which will debut at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. The Princess Isabella Bass and Cora Concept are riffs on previous instruments with a fresh take that have been introduced as part of the Royal Family due to their uniqueness.

The Princess Isabella Bass is the four-string version of Ritter’s popular guitar model. Dubbed “The Vintage London Flower,” this first version of the bass is a short-scale built with an alder body covered in a brocade fabric. Its maple neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that is inlaid with Golden Mother of Pearl oval rings for fret markers. Ritter fitted it with his Ritter Master Slimbucker pickup with only a direct out coming from the back control plate. The setup gives the bass a “VERY vintage” tone while only weighing in at 6.82 pounds.

The Cora Concept takes the luthier’s Cora model and implements his minimalist Concept design, which is marked by a headless tuning system that puts the tuners and output jack on the back of the bass. Similar to the Isabella, the Cora Concept is covered in an ornate Red Dragon Gold brocade. A birdseye maple fingerboard stretches all the way down to the bridge and is matched with birdseye maple volume and tone knobs. Its electronics include an RMC piezo in the bridge with and internal 4-band EQ.

Ritter Instruments are handmade in Germany. Price points for the new models were not available, and they have already been sold.
