Witch Mountain’s Self-Titled Album Features Reinvigorated Band

Witch Mountain: Witch MountainJust over three years ago, Witch Mountain was at a turning point. Their lead singer and bassist left the band following the release of Mobile of Angels, but the core duo of guitarist Rob Wrong and drummer Nate Carson soldiered on. They quickly recruited vocalist Kayla Dixon and bassist Justin Brown in 2015. Instead of jumping into the studio again, the band hit the road to build their sound. Finally, the fruits of their labor are available in a new self-titled album.

“We’ve always been a patient band. Thanks to all of the touring Rob and I have done with Justin and Kayla over the last three years, we were able to make this album as a full-fledged, road-tested, family unit,” says Carson. “Over twenty years, Witch Mountain has never peaked; each record and tour are better than the last. It was a tiny scene when we started, and even though it’s incredibly saturated now, [our] own unique twist on Northwestern doom has continued to set us apart. I can’t wait to share the latest and greatest album with our fans.”

Brown’s fuzzed-out bass puts the beef in Witch Mountain’s crushing doom metal riffs. Check out “Burn You Down”:
