Hans Zimmer has written some epic film music, including some epic bass parts. The composer has announced a North American tour that will feature Juan Garcia-Herreros (aka Snow Owl) filling out the low end. Zimmer, too, likes to get in on the action on bass.

“I’m thrilled to return to perform in North America with my wonderful band and excited to share this phenomenal show,” said Zimmer. “I love this feeling of uniting my family of extraordinary musicians with you, the audience. Just an unbelievable group of talents, who in my opinion, are some of the best musicians in the world. But nothing would have meaning without the good grace and support of you, the other part of the family – the audience. Ultimately, the music connects us all, and I promise you this: we will always play our best, straight from the heart.”

Garcia-Herreros has been working with Zimmer for some time and is featured on the Dune: Part Two Soundtrack. He shared the track for “Lisan al Gaib” with us, which has some particularly intense bass work.

“This track contains 33 different bass layers on multiple basses,” he told us. “It was an absolute emotional rollercoaster creating it with Hans one on one.”

The tour begins September 6th in Duluth, Georgia and will cover the East Coast before heading west all the way to California. The final date is slated for October 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
