Epiphone Reissues The Grabber Bass

Originally introduced in 1973, the Gibson Grabber was a staple of the decade thanks to its use by KISS bassist Gene Simmons. It would find a new life in the ’90s as players like Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic and Green Day’s Mike Dirnt put it to use. The bass was discontinued, but now it’s reborn in a new version from Epiphone.
“Players have been requesting a reissue of this model for decades, and Epiphone has heard you!” the company writes.
The Grabber’s iconic body is built with alder, and its three-piece maple neck holds 20 frets. Epiphone fits it with a humbucker wired directly to the volume and tone controls and a mini toggle switch for coil-splitting.
The Epiphone Grabber comes in Ebony and Natural finishes. It’s available now for $999.

I owned a grabber but it was very neck heavy, wouldn’t mind playing with the Epiphone to see if it’s any better.
