Bass of the Week: This Custom Short Scale Bass from RKM Is a Stunning Masterpiece

RKM Basses 23.012 Custom Bass IV Short Scale

On a recent build, RKM Basses took a classic design and made it beautiful. This Custom Bass IV has a 30.5-inch scale with a Fralin P-Bass pickup fitted into its Parota body. Parota is a tree native to Mexico, where RKM is located.

The neck is hard rock maple with a Birdseye maple fingerboard. RKM used Luminlay side dots, leaving the Birdseye to speak for itself. Other features include a Hipshot B Style bridge, Hipshot ultralite tuners, and black hardware.
