JD DeServio Joins Zakk Sabbath Tour, Honors Geezer Butler with “Bassically” Bass Solo

Guitar icon Zakk Wylde has been busy with the rebuilt Pantera, but he’s not showing any signs of slowing down. He’s just announced a new run of dates with his Black Sabbath tribute set called Zakk Sabbath. The “American Winter Tour ’25” will kick off on October 30th at Rancho Mirage, California and make an enormous loop around the country, only to return to The Golden State to wrap up in San Diego on December 16th.
Zakk Sabbath’s official lineup includes Wylde with drummer Joey Castillo and bassist Robert “Blasko” Nicholson. However, Blasko rejoined Rob Zombie’s band last year and will miss the current tour. The bass will instead be performed by Wylde’s Black Label Society bandmate, John “JD” DeServio.
As part of the show, DeServio has been taking a killer bass solo to introduce “NIB”, just like Geezer Butler does with “Bassically” on Black Sabbath’s debut album. Check out this fan shot footage from Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2023:
