Jack Black Joins Young Musicians for Powerful “Mr. Crowley” Tribute to Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne’s YouTube channel released a new live tribute to “Mr. Crowley” featuring Jack Black on vocals with an all-teen band. Part of Ozzy’s Back to the Beginning farewell event, it celebrates his legacy while spotlighting rock’s next generation.

Roman Morello, son of Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, handles guitar duties with precision and flair. Playing a custom Rhoads-style V, he nails the song’s iconic solo while adding his own youthful energy.

Revel Ian, son of Anthrax’s Scott Ian, anchors the band on bass. His steady, unshowy approach grounds the performance in classic metal style. Locking in tightly with drummer Yoyoka Soma, Revel reinforces the dramatic dynamics and gives Roman’s leads space to shine.

Hugo Weiss completes the lineup on keyboards, recreating the original’s eerie organ textures. The result is both homage and generational handoff, showing how Ozzy’s music continues to inspire young musicians.

For bassists, Revel Ian’s playing is a great example of metal bass fundamentals. He demonstrates how a solid, melodic foundation gives heavy music its weight and atmosphere.
