Fender’s American Professional Classic Basses Blend Vintage Design and Modern Performance

Fender Pro Classic Series Basses

Fender has introduced a new series for 2025 called the American Professional Classic that will include three bass models: a Precision, a Jazz, and a Mustang. The made-in-America instruments have several new upgrades, including all-new Coastline pickups, enhanced neck profiles, upgraded hardware for tuning stability, and bold color options.

“The American Professional Classic is all about delivering a great playing experience,” said Max Gutnik, Chief Product Officer at FMIC. “We focused on every detail: from the all-new Coastline pickups, which offer clear, punchy tone across every register, to the Modern-‘C’ neck with rolled fingerboard edges that feels comfortably broken-in from day one. We combined vintage-inspired finishes and hardware with thoughtful upgrades like staggered ClassicGear™ tuners, Mustang saddles on the offsets, and slotted Telecaster barrel saddles. The result is a guitar that’s easy to play, sounds incredible and adapts to any style or stage.”

Fender calls the American Professional Classic Precision Bass a “perfect blend of vintage charm and modern performance.” It’s built with an alder body and maple neck. The Precision comes in Faded Sherwood Green Metallic and 3-Color Sunburst finishes with a rosewood fingerboard. The Faded Lake Placid Blue option offers a maple fingerboard.

The American Pro Classic Jazz model leans on the 1960s-era design with a Coastline ’62 Jazz Bass pickup and an alder body. It comes in Faded Firemist Gold, 3-Color Sunburst, and Faded Dakota Red.

Finally, the Fender American Professional Classic Mustang reimagines the short-scale classic with an alder body, a Coastline ’70s split-coil pickup, and a Modern C-shaped neck with a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius. It comes in Dakota Red, Faded Sherwood Green Metallic, and 3-Color Sunburst.

The Fender American Professional Classic Basses are available now for $1,599 each.

Dear Fender, PLEASE offer some left-handed versions of these! Since the Player series, there have been no “affordable” lefty models released (no Player II, no Standard). Thank you!
