MonoNeon Reunites With George Clinton for “Bottom Feeder,” Featuring Grandma Liz

MonoNeon has teamed up with the Godfather of Funk once again for a new track, but there’s another special guest, too.
“Bottom Feeder” is a five-minute funk sermon featuring Parliament-Funkadelic mastermind George Clinton and MonoNeon’s grandmother, Grandma Liz. The song is described as a “surreal slice of P-Funk southern soul built on MonoNeon’s homemade minimalist production.”
The bass line and groove feel like a throwback to Parliament’s late 70s grooves as Clinton delivers a spoken-word sermon. Grandma Liz helps to sing the chorus for an “emotional curveball.”
“Her appearance isn’t novelty; it’s context. In MonoNeon’s universe, wisdom doesn’t only come from avant-garde innovators or legendary architects of funk—it also lives in kitchens, living rooms, and generational memory,” a press release explains. “Grandma Liz’s presence reframes the track, reminding listeners that culture isn’t just built in studios and stages, but in families and everyday conversations. She represents continuity, a lineage that predates trends and will outlast them.”
MonoNeon previously featured George Clinton on his 2024 album, Quilted as well as his 2025 single “God Reason.”
