Nile Rodgers & CHIC Live at North Sea Jazz: Jerry Barnes Keeps the Low End Moving

Nile Rodgers and CHIC have shared their full 2018 North Sea Jazz Festival performance, and it is packed with bass goodness from Jerry Barnes.

Barnes is seen holding things down on an Atelier Z Jazz style bass and an Aguilar rig. The tone is thick, focused and supportive, locking the groove in one of the tightest bands in history.  Following Bernard Edwards (founding bassist) is no small assignment but Barnes honors the parts while bringing his own energy to the stage. From locked in disco grooves to busier low end riffs, his playing keeps the band moving from start to finish.

This full set is a great watch for bassists.
