John Deacon and Queen Tear Through “Tie Your Mother Down” in Budapest
Queen has shared another incredible clip from their legendary 1986 concert in Budapest, with 80,000 fans packing the stadium that night
The band tears through “Tie Your Mother Down” in front of a massive crowd at Népstadion on July 27, 1986, during the Magic Tour. John Deacon is armed with his trusty Fender P Bass, laying down the foundation while Freddie Mercury, Brian May, and Roger Taylor are firing on all cylinders.
The footage comes from Queen Budapest, the concert film that has been restored in 4K from the original 35mm film with newly remixed audio from the original multitrack recordings. It was also Queen’s final filmed concert with Mercury.
The restored film is headed to cinemas and IMAX for a limited theatrical run beginning October 7, 2026. Many theaters in the U.S. are currently listing screenings on October 7 and October 10, with additional dates varying by location.
