WATCH: Vulfpeck Doubles the Bass on “Give Me Something”

Vulfpeck has been releasing a lot of music lately and I am here for it.

The band just dropped “Give Me Something,” another track from their upcoming album, Decay of the Aura. We have Joe Dart on bass, Woody Goss on keyboards, and Cory Wong on guitar but bass players will want to keep an eye out for another familiar face. Vulfmon jumps in to overdub a second bass part giving the tune an extra layer of low end.

Dart is playing his Sterling by Music Man Joe Dart Vision, the wonderfully minimal signature model with a single humbucker and absolutely no controls. Not even a volume knob. He is running it through an Ampeg rig and, as usual, getting plenty done with very little between his fingers and the amp.

“Give Me Something” follows “The Beachcomber,” which introduced Decay of the Aura earlier this month. Vulfpeck has not revealed a release date or full tracklist for the album yet, so for now we will happily take the steady stream of new music.
