Darkest Hour Bring the Thunder on “Suffer Divine”

Darkest Hour has returned with Suffer Divine, an album that pushes the DC metal veterans into new territory. Produced by Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse), it adds a more melodic element to their signature blend of hardcore and thrash metal.
Guitarist Mike Schleibaum explains it as a “love letter to melodic death metal” that is underpinned by Aaron Deal‘s monstrous bass tones.
“‘Suffer Divine’ is a love letter to melodic death metal. While it stays true to our core sound, it also pushes the sound of our band forward with precision focus,” he says. “It has so many dense layers; we’re very excited for listeners to get to know it and really dig into it. It’s a guitar-focused record for sure, and you really hear the heightened guitar approach Nico and I have been developing over the past few records. But I also love the lyrics, John’s vocal performance, Deal’s thunderous sound, and the insanity that is Travis Orbin’s drumming. Can’t believe it is finally out, jam it now, and make sure you crank it up loud!”
You can hear that sound in the song “Salvation” with its music video:
Suffer Divine is out now on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (Apple Music, and Amazon Music). Darkest Hour will be on tour in November and December – see below for dates.
