Gear Watch: New Models From Overwater Basses
Overwater Basses has unveiled three new basses: the J-Series 4 Classic, Perception Std Deluxe 4, and their first ever 6-string Singlecut.
The J-Series 4 Classic features a 34″ scale and sports a Swamp Ash body, 1-piece Maple neck, and Rosewood bound fretboard. The electronics are all custom Overwater, including OW Hum Cancelling Pickups and an OW 2-band passive/active system.
The control knobs include volume, pan, stacked treble/bass, and a tone knob with the passive/active pull pot. Chrome Hipshot hardware and a 3-tone Sunburst finish round out the package for a classic look. List price: £1,995.00 (US$3,106.32)
The Perception Std Deluxe 4 is comprised of a 3-piece Maple Neck, Rosewood fretboard, and a Walnut body.
The top and matching headstock are Flamed Sycamore. The electronics include an OW 3-band EQ and OW4 Hum Canceling pickups. Perception Std Deluxe 4 list price: £1,695.00 (US2,639.90)
The 6-string Singlecut is a 33” scale bass featuring a Central American Mahogany body and Burl/Flamed Jarrah top with black veneer. Custom Ebony pickup covers and all black hardware accentuate the Ebony fretboard, which is also bound by Ebony. The Singlecut includes Overwater’s new silent series humbuckers and the OW 3-band EQ.
